Qualus Senior Substation Test Technician in Bluffdale, Utah
Position Overview

Our Substation Test Technicians lead and perform testing, maintenance and repair of low, medium, and high voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in utility substation environments. Work locations: Oregon, Washington, Utah and Idaho.
Travel: 80-90%
Responsibilities
Performing testing on low, medium, and high voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
Painting breakers and parts.
Wiring circuit breakers.
Utilizing and accurately reading meters.
Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls.
Reading and plotting time-current curves.
Testing power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB.
Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets.
Qualifications
5 years’ related experience in substations, power plants, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes.
Minimum 2 years of substation power systems experience.
Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred.
Education: High School Diploma.
Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.
Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors.
Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
