Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Regional EHS Manager who will be responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and directing environmental and health/safety activities to ensure employee engagement, regulatory compliance and implement the EHS management system to protect human health and the environment at multiple locations. Also, analyze, maintain, and improve organizational and process development while meeting the needs of both internal and external customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement, and manage all environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance programs
Evaluate and act upon new EHS regulations
Serve as primary contact for regulatory agencies for inspections, permits, and reporting
Monitor and direct the facility regarding permits related to operations and construction
Ensure appropriate contracts and review hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
Partner with management to investigate all work-related accidents and non-compliance incidents and facilitate mitigation of identified gaps
Perform analytical review and risk-based assessments to ensure compliance and appropriate actions are addressed proactively
Effectively interfaces with all levels of employees to include direct labor through senior management, and influences improvement
Provide EHS technical expertise and resources to new business and validation and engineering projects with ownership in outcomes
Point of contact if the site coordinators don’t have an answer/solution to a problem/situation and/or if they’re absent during a situation
Own and improve site EHS audits program with emphasis on compliance, program effectiveness and employee engagement
Lead the EHS&S Committee, champion wellness programs outcomes
Work with corporate EHS function to support and execute all EHS projects and programs on time and in full
Responsible for EHS plant related and department budget and expenses. Analyze health and safety costs and value which support business alignment
Lead and continuously improve all EHS related training for plant personnel
Manage Occupational Health programs, for example employee health exams/profiles, drug testing, management of Worker's Compensation
Trains and educates both new and current employees
Performs other duties or assignments as directed by Management
Interacts with multiple layers of management in identification and resolution of issues
Responsibility ties to 3 sites in IL, IN, and MI
Travel as required
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Industrial Hygiene fields with specific concentration in EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
2 -3 years supervisory experience preferred
Must be knowledgeable in EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/work specifications, part blueprints, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Basic PC skills with proficiency using MS office suite, and experience using an ERP manufacturing system
Experience with ISO 9001 auditing principles a plus
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour General Industry certification preferred
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.

- Onsite with potential for travel (25%)
