Cigna Digital Strategy Lead - Provider in Bloomfield, Connecticut

This role will assist in defining an expanded digital strategy across all external stakeholders in alignment with Cigna’s enterprise strategic objectives. The scope of this role will focus on the front-facing digital interfaces utilized by our health care professionals participating in Cigna’s networks (i.e. not our back-office automation needs) and across all growth platforms.

The envisioning and execution of this end-to-end multi-stakeholder digital strategy will enable us to better identify the digital advantages that will deliver the most value to the enterprise and more effectively determine their correct development sequencing and source (build, buy or partner). This position will work with senior leaders to define areas of focus for development and will work with solution leaders and teams to design and test new concepts for deployment.

This position will be an individual contributor and must have a well-developed matrix management process and demonstrate high influencing skills to accomplish significant objectives in a complex environment, to develop and execute strategies and to maximize innovation, growth and accelerate the organization’s strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply ecommerce expertise to each stakeholder’s external interfaces

  • Collaborate for quality and consistency across design, development, and architecture.

  • Ensure subject matter expertise is participating to accelerate digital product development and solving for respective opportunities.

  • Assess business strategies and identify market trends and stakeholder needs

  • Identify areas of focus and problems statements for innovation and secure buy-in from leaders across Cigna

  • Collaborate across matrix partners in product, service, contracting/reimbursement, clinical, analytics, marketing, reporting and others to actively design new solution concepts

  • As needed, work with research partners to conduct market testing of new concepts with health care professionals

  • Determine components / capabilities needed to enable the solution concepts

  • As needed, collaborate with corporate development on potential vendor partnership strategies that will enable the solutions

  • Support business case development for each concept, articulating the value it will bring, including financial impacts (earnings, TMC)

  • For concepts approved, ensure appropriate transition to solution area who will be responsible for launching and managing the solution

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 10+ years of experience within the healthcare industry

  • Product and digital strategy experience required

  • Knowledge of client and producer/broker needs and digital capabilities used by these stakeholders

  • Trusted team player with proven ability to foster and manage working relationships within a matrix environment

  • Ability to work independently

  • Creative thinker with ability to think outside the box and translate ideas into actions; ability to demonstrate problem solving skills

  • Proven oral and written communication skills across various levels of the organization

  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results with sense of urgency

  • Travel up to 25%
