The Cigna Group Business Analysis Advisor (Client Reporting Analytics) - Hybrid in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Summary

The Client & Health Plan Trend Analytics Product organization within the Sales & Provider Analytics organization is entrusted with key business (sponsor) relationships as well as understanding the various personas who use our Analytic products. The Product org articulates and measures the value enabled by Analytic products while leveraging agile and product management best practices for effective and efficient delivery with our partners in the Data & Analytics Engineering organization.

The Business Analyst (BA) role is customer-focused, working as part of the Business & Technical Product teams to understand and document the needs of the business. In partnership with the Business and/or Technical Product Owner, the BA helps to enable the business value solutions delivered by the teams and must engage with the teams accordingly. The BA also partners with the Analytics org as well Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for methodology, calculations, and content.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Business Product Owner / Product Manager in articulating the needs of the business through data research, creation of artifacts related to data lineage, definition of data attributes and calculations, and expectations around data accuracy and data quality

  • Conduct interviews, workshops, or focus group discussions with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements

  • Conduct Feasibility studies when presented with a potential solution or project; This might involve cost-benefit analysis, studying market trends, or evaluating technical constraints

  • Documents requirements clearly, ensuring they're specific, measurable, and unambiguous; creates process maps and keeps meeting minutes

  • Use tools like BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) or flowcharts to visually represent the current ("as-is") and desired ("to-be") business processes

  • Extract and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, or anomalies that might inform business decisions

  • Creates test cases and completes testing once the product capabilities or features are built and ready for testing

  • Reconciles product output as part of migration from legacy solutions to Next Gen; researches and documents differences; confirms with users the ranges of acceptable variances

  • May serve as owner for a domain of data, responsible for how the data is used in all client reporting products

  • Helps analyze data to inform business decisions about data sources, priority of new content, impact of including/ excluding attributes, and drives for consistent use of the data

  • Supports implementation as a bridge between business and IT teams resolving any ambiguities, provide clarifications on requirements, and ensure the solution is aligned with business needs

  • Supports End-User training. This can involve providing content for user manuals, participating in training sessions, or providing one-on-one support for Users who need to understand the nuances with the report content

Qualifications

  • 2+ years' Agile experience, preferably in a Business Analyst or similar role

  • Must have excellent analytics and reporting acumen including experience building reports or completing data analysis related to trend management

  • Product management experience is strongly desired; candidate must demonstrate a “product mindset” with the ability to problem solve, collaborate, and deliver business value in an iterative fashion

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required; individual must be polished and professional and have experience interacting with senior leadership

  • Experience managing and reporting on performance of a “product” is preferred, including operational and outcomes metric tracking and goal setting

  • Experience measuring results and outcomes post-implementation is preferred, i.e. business value delivered or enabled with the business

  • Experience building use cases based on expected value and estimate costs is preferred

  • Experience with Jira for documenting project requirements is preferred

  • Experience in healthcare environment is preferred; client reporting experience is a huge plus

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delegate and masterfully manage time in partnership with complementary work areas

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 89,900 - 149,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
