Schreiner Group, LP Finishing Operator 1st & 2nd Shift in Blauvelt, New York
Full time regular openings for a Finishing Operator. The finishing operator is responsible for set up and operation of inspection and slitting equipment - this includes the usage of computerized camera systems, manual or automatic slitting systems; Ink Jet Equipment for Numbering Essential Functions include the following (Other duties may be assigned): Completing all necessary paperwork and inspects the order in accordance with Quality Assurance procedures. Checking for correct copy of the label order using a computerized vision system. Set up of finishing machine - including web tensions, ink jet system, knife position (by hand or automatic). Splices out any inferior printed material. Verifies that all finishing customer specifications are followed. Packs the finished reels onto carts and applies all required identification. Communicates with the supervisor on quality issues. Completes a daily log of all orders inspected. The requirements of a successful candidate are: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Attention to fine detail and to work to deadlines, adhering to strict customer requirements. Ability to use a calculator. Able communicate in English verbally and writing. Critical thinking Skills (Problem solving, observation, analysis). Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and simple division. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Basic Technical knowledge and ability to trouble shoot. Experience in pharmaceutical or automotive supply chain are a plus. Our facility operates on a 2 shift, 10-hour day schedule with Fridays for potential overtime. The ability to work overtime is required for this position. The operator position requires the employee to regularly stand, reach with arms, kneel and lift up to 50 lbs. Applicants must have a high school diploma (or General Equivalent Degree) or higher level of education and at least 1 year experience in operating manufacturing equipment.
