SAN JUAN COUNSELING Peer Support Specialist/Family Peer Support Specialist (PT) in BLANDING, Utah

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a dual Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)/Family Peer Support Specialist (FPSS). As a dual certified CPSS/FPSS you will use your lived experience to provide guidance, encouragement, support, skills development and promote recovery and resiliency to individuals and families dealing with addiction and mental health challenges. Your role will be instrumental in helping clients navigate their recovery journey and circumstance and achieve their goals.

Duties:

  • Provide support to individuals facing addiction and mental health challenges

  • Actively attend and provide leadership in the community-based support groups

  • Identify individuals and families in the community that would utilize and benefit from available services and serve as a mentor, advocate, and role model to promote positive change

  • Lead weekly support/recovery groups

  • Attend bi-weekly Drug Court (DC) staffing

  • Collecting and submitting DC reports

  • Complete assessments relevant to the position DLA, RANT

  • Case management services, including helping individuals and families apply for resources and entitlements (Medicaid etc.)

  • Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies for managing clients conditions

  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to develop individualized care plans and ensure continuity of care

  • Offer crisis intervention services as needed, providing immediate support during difficult times

  • Other duties as assigned and relevant to the position

Requirements:

-Must have or work towards CPSS/FPSS

  • Previous experience in/around addiction counseling, behavioral health, social work, or related field

  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment approaches

  • Familiarity with crisis management techniques and interventions

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients

  • Demonstrated understanding of peer support principles and practices

  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record systems or similar software

  • Must possess a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation and pass mandatory background check.
