Spudnik CNC Mill Machinist in Blackfoot, Idaho

We are now accepting applications for the following position: POSITION: CNC Mill Machinist LOCATION: Blackfoot, ID JOB SUMMARY: The Machinist is responsible for preparing and machining steel components used in the manufacturing of agricultural handling equipment and other special projects ordered. The Machinist will perform close tolerance and general turning and milling work on both manual and CNC equipment. Some welding and assembly work may be required. The Machinist will correctly set up and operate machining equipment to perform high quality machine work. The Machinist will complete final inspections of parts and components prior to releasing to downline customer to ensure the highest quality product is being delivered. Machinists will be available for fluctuating shifts and overtime where appropriate in order to respond to production needs. Machinists will demonstrate a high level of responsibility and accountability while working effectively and efficiently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. • Correctly machine parts per customer orders in accordance with the timelines identified in the build plan; • Program, set-up, and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes according to build plan needs; • Set-up and perform close precision manual machining work to complete customer orders; • Read and understand technical drawings and geometric tolerances; • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and troubleshooting analysis during machining, making necessary adjustments, to ensure smooth operation of machine while maintaining quality standards; • Understand the definition of quality and know the measurements for determining quality products; • Coordinate with Lead Person to identify and requisition parts needed for assembly; • Become a technical expert for parts manufactured, machining tools and techniques, and be top performer in workmanship, safety, and work ethics; • Keep and maintain accurate production records using timesheets and other methods identified by Supervisor; • Actively work with internal and external customers to identify and solve problems. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 1 year schooling, training, experience in Machining Technology; • Comprehension of CNC and manual machine shop tools and equipment; • Ability to operate measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers; • Ability to consistently machine close tolerances; • Knowledge of machine shop safety and hazards in machine shop areas; • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instruction; • Proficiency in basic shop math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication). There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The environment includes a variety of physical conditions such a proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working on scaffolding or other high places. The employee may be exposed to one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust mists, gases or poor ventilation. There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
