Grundfos Experienced Digital System Engineer in Bjerringbro, Denmark

Experienced Digital System Engineer

Job Description

Are you already today driving technical projects, and do you set the direction and have the skills to rethink system architectures and platforms to keep up with our continuously evolving solutions?

Do you have a wish for setting the direction for the future Grundfos products within the digital domain and guiding your colleagues technically in our development and do you want to work together with experienced colleagues creating best-in-class solutions?

At Grundfos, we develop world-class pumps and in Domestic Building Services we focus on creating the most reliable and sustainable pump products for our homes. We have the full responsibility for the development of the products, from creating the requirements together with our business colleagues, designing and implementing them and finally also ensuring that the full solution is approved. You will work in an informal environment where focus is on developing you as well as on developing new innovative products.

What is the job about?

You will be a part of a motivated and empowered cross functional agile team, with all team members based in Bjerringbro and you will be the Systems Engineer with focus on the digital part of the development. You will be overall responsible for digital technical part of the complete product, from the physical products itself to the apps, cloud and what is needed so that our system can work in Smart Home solutions. You and your team will work closely together with a number of other design teams.

Your main responsibilities:

Being the system integrator/technical lead with focus on the digital parts in the integrated product development, you:

  • With focus on the digital parts, drive the technical scope, requirements specification, architecture and verification

  • Decide on appropriate digital architecture and solutions and align these across platforms

  • Actively communicate with other functions to gather information on technical system requirements and make sure all developed systems fulfil these

  • Monitor development and ensure technical quality throughout projects

  • Ensure that the digital architecture and the implemented solution is maintained so all our products continue to work when they have reached the market

  • Collaborate with different teams within Grundfos to enhance your personal and professional development.

“From beginning to end, you get to follow and drive the digital parts of the projects from a technical perspective. You will be there from initial scoping to production, sales and optimizations. All the digital aspects of the projects will be yours,” says Jan, Head of HVAC Small Product Development.

Your background:

We imagine that you have:

  • Solid, proven experience with technical leadership within software – maybe as a technical project manager, development engineer or the like

  • Experience doing architecture within software development, and an understanding of how to bring this alive

  • A bachelor´s engineering degree as minimum

  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English, and you are capable of functioning in an English-only speaking environment.

  • The ability to speak Danish will be an advantage

With your interpersonal skills, you motivate and engage colleagues involved in projects and tasks, ensuring they are achieved within given deadlines and requirements. You know how to take on the technical leadership of a project, and you have the knowledge to take them in a complex, international organization.

For each product you work on, you may be in contact with many people all around the complete organisation, building yourself a broad network across Grundfos and you will use your voice to promote these projects in the right direction.

“You have the possibility to influence how our future products are designed if you speak up. As the lead, people will listen to you and your valuable input and being able to create links between electronics, mechanical and software development you will be a key player for us,” Jan adds.

What’s in it for you?

Whether it’s developing leadership skills or advancing your expertise even further, we’ll support you with continuous learning and development opportunities, to help discuss and steer your long-term Grundfos career path. You’ll be welcomed from day one into an inclusive, trusting environment guided by six core values.

In addition, your day-to-day benefits include:

  • We encourage you to be at the offices, where you can engage, learn, and have fun with colleagues. If you’ll be working from your home office, we’ll make sure you are well equipped with a good workstation

  • On top of it, flexible working hours and up to 3 days’ additional paid leave for volunteering of your choice

  • Annual bonuses, health insurance, parental support, internal well-being consultants and programmes

  • Access to the modern Grundfos Academy to pursue further both personal and professional development

  • Diverse, inclusive environment with employee-led forums offering colleagues a safe place to connect and share openly
