The Townsend Hotel Housekeeping Room Attendant in Birmingham, Michigan

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Clean guest rooms (stripping bed and linens, emptying trash, cleaning mirrors, dusting furniture, etc.)
  • Clean and sanitize guest bathroom (clean commodes, tubs, floors, marble counter tops, walls, mirrors, etc.)
  • Gather trash, waste. Properly dispose items into approved disposal area as specified by Housekeeping Management.
  • Ensure all lost, found items have been tagged and delivered the Housekeeping Department Managers for logging.
  • Inspect rooms for needed repairs, and for completion of cleaning.
  • Report any damage to furniture or fixtures to the Director of Rooms or Housekeeping Supervisor on duty.
  • Verify the appropriate use of cleaning products, as defined by the Material Safety Data sheets, prior to their intended use.
  • Arrange furniture, bedding, fixtures, and amenities in the room according to the standardized room setting.
  • Replenish all housekeeping items as necessary or requested. Examples: bath robe, slippers, towels, tissue, bath mat, bedding, hangers, pillows, toiletries.
  • Perform all dusting and vacuuming in accordance to standards.
  • Inspect the guest room, working in a clockwise manner, recording which duties have been completed.
  • Replace clean towels on racks.
  • Place proper quantities of room accessories according to standards.
  • Operate a light vacuum.
  • Follow pet, smoke, and bug procedures as explained by manager.
  • Follow all safety and security policies, procedures.
  • Prioritize the rooms based upon guest requests, arrivals, etc.
  • Complete all special projects that are requested by manager.
  • Deep clean assigned guest room once a year as per schedule and procedure.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Requires manual dexterity to complete housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, moving furniture, making beds, changing bed linens, polishing bathroom fixtures, and cleaning floors.
  • You must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with the guest, coworkers, and managers.
  • You must have the ability to use stairs and service elevators to move throughout the building.
