US Tech Solutions Substation Control Designer 2 in Birmingham, Alabama

Description:

  • The Substation Controls Designer 2 position requires 5-7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or an associate degree.

  • This position is responsible for Clients Transmission and Distribution Substations design.

  • The position is responsible for providing engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirements for substation projects emphasizing safety, quality, scheduling, and costs.

  • This position requires approximately 25% travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Job responsibilities include make safety a top priority using a safety first mentality.

  • Being highly productive with exceptional quality on design packages, providing technical expertise, and guidance for inexperienced design personnel.

  • Supporting Substation Field Services, Project Management, and other project stakeholders, coordinating and communicating with associated departments.

  • Supporting clients design criteria and standardization effort providing support for storm restoration efforts.

  • Skillsets and expertise required for this position include basic discipline knowledge, problem-solving skills, some discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.

  • Understanding of Control Design tools and applications (AutoCAD Electrical, TEAMS, Stomps, SCST Vault, Maximo), strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
