Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Lab Technician I includes, but is not limited to, responsibilities for the chemical analysis of steel samples for the Melt Shop Lab. This includes periodic maintenance of the ARL spectrometers, grinding equipment, Leco, and Bruker X-Ray machines. Preparing and analyzing slag samples, as well as the disposition / grading of products in the Melt Shop are additional responsibilities. [[cust_safetyState]]
Minimum Qualifications:
The ability to lift 50lbs to a height of 42 on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled
Experience with Melt Lab testing equipment and procedures.
Mechanical ability and software proficiency.
