Job Title: GIS Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a GIS Technician to support our Lighting group in mapping out lighting projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking drawings from lighting engineers and mapping out the project using DIS-GIS (Distribution GIS program specific] and ArcGIS. Key tasks include designing digital maps with geographic data, creating 'shapefiles' to merge topographical data with external data, converting physical maps into digital forms for computer usage, performing data conversion, and managing a digital library of geographic maps for LED lighting units. This position also supports the mapping print data for the municipal distribution specialist for the ALDOT permit process for all six divisions.
