Join Our Team as a CNC Machinist at Plant 1 in Birmingham, Alabama! 2nd SHIFT 4:30P-2:30A MON-THURSDAY (4-10 HOUR SHIFTS) Occasional Overtime on Friday or Saturday.

This role involves setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to create parts that meet exact specifications. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines to fabricate metallic parts.
- Fit and assemble machined parts into complete units, applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures.
- Read blueprints, sketches, and follow verbal instructions to understand customer specifications.
- Maintain dimensional logs for all work and jobs processed on machines.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks and report equipment malfunctions to the proper authority.
- Keep the work area clean and orderly, adhering to safety rules and regulations.
- Communicate upcoming work requirements and address needs proactively to avoid production delays.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of technical school or five years of machining experience.
- Completion of a four-year apprentice program in Machining is preferred.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings and blueprints.
- Experience operating various types of machinery used in the trade, such as milling and turning machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Self-starter with good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor.
- Openness to learning new skills and collaborating with team members to create solutions.
- Ability to solve complex technical problems with limited direction.
