The Cigna Group Business Analytics Lead Analyst (Medicare Value Based Care) - Hybrid in Birmingham, Alabama
Summary
The Business Analytics Lead will be an individual contributor responsible for providing advanced analytics supporting value-based care capabilities for Accountable Care. This role will be responsible for executing advanced analytics around ACO/Risk Bearing Entity programs to help measure and evaluate the cost and quality of care of our members by our provider groups. In addition, this person will be responsible to identify opportunities for our clinical partners to work with our providers to meet our goal of reducing costs and increasing quality of care to our members. This individual will need to work collaboratively with key technical and non-technical matrix partners to provide analytical reporting for use in evaluation of our value-based care programs.
Responsibilities
Create tools and reports to help evaluate the cost and quality of care opportunities for a variety of provider groups in a value-based care arrangement
Extract, analyze, and validate large sets of data used to analyze trends
Deliver monthly analytics packages to Network Operations, Finance and other business partners
Create reports and other tools to help provider facing analysts in presentations to the external provider groups
Assist in coordinating and documenting financial analysis projects or financial reporting
Analyze and identify trends, variances, and key issues and provide recommendations for adjustment
Prepare and improve financial analysis and forecasting methodologies
Support in the analysis and valuation of local initiatives including clinical engagement programs
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex internal MS Excel spreadsheets
Qualifications
2+ years’ of experience working with healthcare administrative claims data, EHR, and/or laboratory data
2+ years’ of experience with SQL, plus one analytics-focused programming language such as Python, R and/or SAS
Ability to use dashboard and data visualization tools (Tableau, RShiny, Plotly, etc.)
Ability to use basic features of common version control software (e.g., Git)
Ability to perform descriptive analysis (e.g. opportunity analysis, scope & assess) with appropriate supervision
Firm understanding of statistical methods and trade-offs between simple and complex models (i.e., accuracy, explainability, bias, and variance)
Follows best programming practices and writes clean, documented, and well-structured code
Adheres team standards related to dataset construction, code writing, version control and documentation
Ability to research, profile, and develop new data sources for analyses
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
