Greater Binghamton Health Center Mental Health Therapy Aide (Evenings) in Binghamton, New York

Mental Health Therapy Aide - One opening is available at the Transitional Living Residence, (TLR), Evenings, for a Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA). The successful candidate must be able to assist the TLR team in the implementation of individual residential service plans. Job Duties/Expectations: Accompany and transport clients to and from CTRC, community events and special outings as assigned. Assist other staff in identifying the need for and providing crisis intervention. Maintain a therapeutic environment which is clean, safe and an atmosphere which encourages positive mental health and achievement of individual potential. Observe, record and report patient's behavior to Program Manager in a timely fashion. Interact with clients in a therapeutic manner. Provide clients with a safe and therapeutic environment. Assist clients in performing ADL's encouraging independent functioning when appropriate. Satisfactory work performance Responsible Time and Attendance TLS follows a unit-based staffing schedule, employee will agree to work within the guidelines of this staffing pattern. Become medication certified in the Self Administration Medication Program. Assist with all aspects of food handling / meal preparation at TLS and at CTRC. Minimum Qualifications for this position include: Current GBHC employee in a MHTA title.
