Crime Victims Assistance Center COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST in Binghamton, New York

NY1498124 - COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST <br> Job Purpose: To support the community at large around topics related to victimization, and prevention. <p>

Duties and responsibilities: <br> Fundraising <ul> <li>Plan, implement, and analyze fund development activities and fundraising events <li>Identify and develop corporate, community, and individual prospects for the organization's fundraising priorities <li>Oversee the administration of a donor mailing list and database <li>Coordinate the design, printing, and distribution of marketing and communication materials <li>Assist CEO in building relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization <li>Prepare, implement, and report activities of a comprehensive social media plan <li>Manage the agency website as well as Constant Contact, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. <li>Develop and maintain branding standards </ul>

Outreach & Education <ul> <li>Take the lead on community engagement in person and online. Actively increase the visibility of CVAC by means of community events, tabling, community education and social media presence <li>Be the point of contact for other organizations who participate and organize community events that serve clients who may be effected by crime in the Broome County area and beyond <li>Research and assist in the development of up-to-date, quality presentation materials for various community groups (youth, professionals, volunteers, etc.) <li>Assist in prevention programming (adult, youth & campus) on an as needed basis, in person & virtually <li>Facilitate education groups both provided curriculums and self-developed curriculums in person & virtually <li>Work within the education team to organize curriculum development and upkeep of outreach & curriculum materials <li>Communicate with various schools and community groups to create ongoing partnerships with CVAC (training, policy & support) <li>Represent CVAC on various task forces and coalitions <li>Maintain general monthly education & outreach statistics & organize community evaluations for tabling events as needed </ul>

Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, communications or related fields; or Associate's degree in Mental Health and/or equivalent experience. <p>

Requirements: <ul> <li>Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. <li>Be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously <li>Have experience in public speaking and education; experience with Non-profits preferred <li>Have experience creating social and print media <li>The ability to build relationships with community stakeholders in order to build support for CVAC's Mission and achieve our fundraising goals.
