YELLOWSTONE COUNTY JUVENILE CARE WORKER in BILLINGS, Montana
Yellowstone County is seeking Juvenile Care Workers to provide counseling, basic care, and behavioral management for youth placed in County youth care facilities by a referring agency. Examples of Duties: - Supervision of youth in a detention environment and shelter care facility. - Conducts youth intake interviews and continues to regularly document youth behaviors and emotional status. - Provides basic care and supervision to youth. - Monitors and assesses the behavioral and emotional characteristics of referred youth and provides counseling or additional supervision to prevent self harm as needed. - Regularly communicates orally and in writing any changes to youth to all members of the youth care facility. - Prepares quarterly incident and discharge reports. - Aids in the development, implementation and updating of individual treatment, management, and discharge plans. Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or closely related field; or - Associate's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or closely related field; or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling four (4) years. - Valid Montana driver's license. - CPR certification (within 6 months).
