YELLOWSTONE COUNTY DISASTER & EMERGENCY SERVICES DIRECTOR in BILLINGS, Montana

Yellowstone County is seeking a Disaster and Emergency Services Director to manage the operations of the Disaster and Emergency Services Department and coordinate all emergency management programs for Yellowstone County including the City of Billings, the City of Laurel, and the Town of Broadview; does related work as required. Examples of Duties: - Directs the County's disaster and emergency services program; - Acts as Yellowstone County's Fire Warden including all responsibilities associated with the position of County Fire Warden as defined by the DNRC and Yellowstone County; - Develops, presents and implements recommendations for enhancing emergency service; - Manages disaster preparation planning, mitigation, response, communication and recovery programs; - Develops emergency response plans, policies and procedures for the County; - Plans and organizes the County's disaster preparation drills, warning systems and emergency communications program including County's Courthouse Emergency; - Plan and coordination of emergency drills for courthouse. Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, Public Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field; and - Four (4) years' experience coordinating emergency response, disaster preparedness, and floodplain programs; or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling eight (8) years. - Applicant must live within 30 minutes of the Emergency Operation Center; - Applicant will be allowed six (6) months to relocate to the area from the time of being awarded the position. - Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the State of Montana.
