Job Summary:
Using leadership and Document Control experience, an individual in this role will lead a small dedicated and detail-oriented team of two professionals to support Document control and configuration management in an engineering and production environment. They will also interface with internal and external Project Managers to ensure that all contractual documentation requirements are fulfilled.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the department in developing innovative approaches for Configuration Management to meet business needs, ISO 9001 standards and contractual requirements.
Responsible for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
Manage change and revision control for engineering and manufacturing documentation, such as drawings, bills of materials, engineering change orders, part number assignment, etc.
Facilitate the timely change, approval and release of product documentation and data to include modifications to bills of material in the ERP system.
Coordinate the controls associated with the transmission of various levels of documentation to external customer systems.
Supervision of department staff, including training, day to day direction and performance evaluation.
Provide support on methods, procedures and requirements to individuals responsible for the creation of documentation.
Comply with ISO and Military standards consistent with corporate direction and customer requirements.
Responsible for interpreting government contract requirements related to configuration management and reviewing Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs) in support of customer deliverables.
Record, maintain and report configuration status of As-Built baselines as required.
Point of contact for Global Trade Compliance Corporate Policies regarding export Jurisdiction and Classification requirements.
Job Qualifications:
HS Degree or GED required; advanced degree preferred.
Experience in Configuration Management and Document Control required.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) with Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and Material Master.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Change Controls, Bills of Materials, and Drawing Maintenance.
Experience with MIL/DoD standards, in particular, MIL-HDB-61 and EIA-649 as they apply to documents such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Configuration Management, Drawings, etc.
Prior supervisory/people management experience strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational, written and communication skills.
Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have strong attention for detail.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner and demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a team member.
Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively under minimum of supervision.
Experience with Global Trade Compliance export policies preferred.
