We're looking for someone to join our team as a Clinical Partner (CP)/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)!
As a CP/CNA/EMT for our 60-bed Emergency Department (ED), Level I Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, Level III Geriatric Care ED, STEMI Receiving Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center and Paramedic Base Station you will care for all people in need. The ED is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You will perform a variety of direct patient care activities or tasks specific to the unit/needs of the patient population under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
you will provide for the safety of patients, families and significant others. Reduce the risk of health care acquired infection by staying in compliance with current CDC hand washing guidelines and CSMC isolation policy.
You will maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, recording intake and output and dispensing/retrieving patient care supplies.
You will report abnormal vital signs to the charge or primary RN and accurately document in electronic medical records.
You will assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required.
Associate Degree or college diploma preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Valid CA CNA or CA EMT (Emergency Department only) certification required.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Approved by the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross.
Experience:
- One year of previous EMT CNA experience in an acute care facility, (hospital or medical center strongly preferred) or long-term-care hospital (convalescent, skilled nurse facility or physical rehabilitation center) preferred.
