Guardian Life Leave and Accommodation Case Manager in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The Leave and Accommodations Case Manager is involved with all aspects of the Company’s leave and accommodation process and policies with the Company’s third-party provider. This includes compliance with

the Company’s leave policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and all federal, state, and municipal laws and requirements.

You will

• Manage leave of absence (STD, LOA, FMLA, etc.) cases in partnership with the Company’s third-party providers.

• Be liaison between the TPA and colleagues, managers, etc. and generates solutions that are win-win

• Provide accommodation (medical, religious, lactation, pregnancy, etc.) case management support in partnership with HR and the Company’s third-party providers.

• Exercise discretionary judgement and critical assessment skills when reviewing, analyzing, and managing complex cases.

• Facilitate internal stakeholder collaboration for accommodation and leave requests.

• Develops a strong partnership with employment law and colleague relations and partners cross-functionally to advise on leaves, absence, and accommodations

• Assist in administration of leave and accommodations by third-party providers is done properly and timely in accordance with pre-determined service levels by conducting regular audits and assessments of their work and stakeholder feedback.

• In collaboration with the Lead Leave Administrator and HR, identify repeating third-party issues and trends to address with higher level of internal leadership and third-party.

• Ensure accurate tracking and handling of all aspects of employee leave and accommodation cases from beginning to end to ensure case management and the interactive process meets and/or exceeds regulatory requirements and Company Policies

• Provide recommendations and assist in the development of various communications used in the leave and accommodation space.

• Serve as subject matter expert on the Company’s leave and accommodation policies.

• Assist with training employees, people leaders, and human resources colleagues on updates to the Company’s leave and accommodation policies, processes, and state/federal leave laws

• Maintain current knowledge of the ever changing federal, state, and municipal leave and accommodation landscape and ensure the Company remains in compliance.

• Help maintain the leave and accommodation SOPs and ensure active SOPs remain up to date.

• Develop and generate reports on a regular basis to assist in analyzing leave and accommodation data trends.

• Promote teamwork through open, honest, and constructive communications at all levels.

• Have strong business acumen with a focus on providing world class internal and external customer service.

• Assist HR team with any leave and accommodation escalations and provide timely and accurate support.

You have

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a complex and fast-paced environment.

• The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in human resources, vocational rehabilitation, occupational health, leave management, or behavioral health.

• Experience with leave administration, ADA or related legal experience preferred.

• Significant knowledge or experience with HR policies and leave activities.

Location /Travel

  • Hybrid role –in office 2 days a week, WFH – 3 days a week. Preferred location – Bethlehem, PA.

Salary Range

$56,680.00 - $85,015.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
