Job Title: Computer Security System Specialist (NEI-18)

Location: Bethesda, MD

CyberData Technologies is seeking a Computer Security System Specialist to design, implement, and manage security solutions across a dynamic multi-cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to ensure system security compliance, perform risk assessments, and implement robust security standards aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and define security requirements for Multi-Level Security (MLS) systems and environments.

  • Design, develop, and implement security solutions tailored to meet MLS requirements.

  • Establish and enforce security standards for cloud and on-premises environments.

  • Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure architecture within Azure, AWS, and Google Workspace FedRAMP environments.

  • Assess existing systems and applications for cloud readiness and security compliance.

  • Manage access controls and identity management for cloud platforms.

  • Monitor and manage virtual server images, ensuring security compliance.

  • Conduct comprehensive risk analyses, including risk assessments and vulnerability management.

  • Identify and mitigate security risks in cloud and on-premises environments.

  • Develop and maintain an effective risk management framework.

  • Perform regular security assessments and implement updates to address vulnerabilities.

  • Establish protocols for security event monitoring and incident response.

  • Revise and maintain COOP and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

  • Provide technical training sessions for staff on cloud usage, security best practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Deliver ongoing technical support and maintenance for security-related issues.

    Qualifications:

    Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in security engineering, with expertise in MLS environments.

  • Proven track record of designing and implementing security solutions for cloud and on-premises systems.

    Technical Expertise:

  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols, encryption standards, and identity management.

  • Expertise in risk analysis, vulnerability assessment, and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST 800-53).

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Workspace), and multi-cloud security practices.

    Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty

  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals

    Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex security projects.
