Health Fitness is looking for a highly motivated individual with prior supervisory experience to fill our new Aquatic Coordinator position at the Yukon Kuskokwim Fitness Center in Bethel, AK.

Aquatic Coordinator, Bethel, AK

Full-time role with PTO & benefits

As Aquatic Coordinator at YKFC, you'll have the opportunity to influence the growth and development of aquatics and recreation in the community. You'll lifeguard and supervise & schedule the lifeguard team. You will help develop and deliver aquatic programs, assist with pool management and operations, provide excellent customer service, and serve as a part of the facility Safety Team. Other duties as needed/assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others improve their lives through aquatics and recreation, the commitment and operational skills to provide safe services in a clean well-maintained facility, and evening and weekend availability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 18+ years old with a High School Diploma or GED.

  • ARC Lifeguard certified or possesses swim skills and the ability to pass Lifeguard certification course within 30 days of hire.

  • Prior experience with facility operations and staff supervision ideally in a fitness and/or aquatic facility.

  • Hands on experience with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of basic facility equipment, fitness equipment, and/or pool equipment.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word, Excel and Outlook and ability tonavigateelectronic onboarding and timecard systems.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Swim Instructor certified through recognized industry training program.

  • Pool Operators Certification through recognized industry training program.

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.

  • 2+ years related industry experience with at least 1+ year supervisory experience.

Compensation: $22-25/hour. Pay is dependent on experience, qualifications, and certifications.
