Description: Paint Prep Technician Location: Berlin Heights, OH 44814 Salary: $16.00 ($2.00 shift differential after training) Shift: 2nd (training on 1st) SUMMARY: Cleans steel and aluminum fabricated parts prior to the priming/painting operation, also applies sheet metal as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Removes rust, scale, and spatter from metal product with scraper, wire brush, sanders, grinders, and/or Scotch Brite pads
- Thoroughly cleans and removes all residue such as grease, dirt, oil, weld burns, marker, printing marks, etc. from product using solvents and wiping rags
- Fills cavities, holes, and dents with body filler and/or putty to attain smooth surface
- Occasionally fabricates custom parts
- Other duties may be assigned
