The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) 777X Assembly manufacturing engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Associate or Experienced Manufacturing Engineer to be located in Berkeley, MO.

This engineer will have the unique opportunity to support the build of the commodities for the wing on the 777X airplane. In joining us, you will work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing engineering, 3D model-based instructions, CATIA, Teamcenter/IPDM/VisMockup, and Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci); and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies.

• Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.

• Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build.

• Assists in implementing manufacturing plans.

• Resolves technical problems and assists in the implementation of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.

• Assists in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies.

• Interfaces with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs and internal customers to develop products, skills, knowledge and experience.

• Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.

• Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 2+ years of related engineering experience

  • Experience in Lean Process implementation

  • Prior engineering experience in a manufacturing or production role

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers

  • Experience with 3D model based instruction

  • Experience with any of the following: CATIA, Teamcenter/IPDM/VisMockup, IBI Cognos

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci)

Typical Education & Experience:

Level 2: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range Associate Level 2: $75,650 - 102,350

Summary pay range Experienced Level 3 : 90,100 - 121,900
