The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a highly-motivated and energetic Flight Engineering Manager (Level L) to join the Flight Systems Capability and Phantom Works located in Berkeley , MO . This position will lead the Aerodynamics team in support of several Phantom Works programs.

The Aerodynamics team L-Level manager leads a multi-skilled team to define, develop, integrate and test vehicle concepts. The Aerodynamics team is responsible for requirements definition and management, concept / configuration development, analysis, database development, modeling, verification / validation, integrated testing utilizing wind tunnel models and on the final product.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes integrated organizational and program plans, complying with policies and procedures, and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.

  • Acquires resources for organizational and program activities, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active Current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.). Last periodic re-investigation should have been completed within the last 6 years.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 10+ years of experience in aerodynamics engineering.

  • 5+ years as a manager or technical lead.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Knowledge of vehicle systems integration and test.

  • Knowledge of flight test processes and procedures.

  • Experience with Earned Value Management and integrated scheduling.

  • Previous customer interface experience on technical issues.

  • Current Top Secret US Clearance.

Summary pay range: $154,700 - $209,300
