Boeing Global Services (BGS) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, talented, and highly motivated Lead Sustainment Engineer (Level 4 or Level 5) to join The Air Force Fighter & Strike Sustainment engineering team in St. Louis, MO. This dynamic team is made up of project, integration, and systems engineers responsible for the sustainment of domestic, foreign military sale (FMS), and direct commercial sale (DCS) F-15s. They also support production and modernization efforts in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and ensure successful transition of those efforts to BGS sustainment once fielded.
This challenging position is critical to the sustainment of the USAF F-15 fleet, which drives the long-term affordability and availability of the jet, ensuring it remains viable and effective for decades to come.
Position Responsibilities:
Support USAF aircraft sustainment for the F-15C/D/E/EX/International models by providing technical support for avionics and mission system-related Aircraft on Ground (AOG) issues.
Support the development, fielding, and integration of proprietary systems on the F-15 fleet.
In-service engineering support of fielded domestic and International F-15 fighter aircraft, including disposition of non-conformances, determining alternate parts, repair concepts, and support of obsolescence/diminishing manufacturing sources.
Research, author, coordinate, approve, and release of Eagle Advisory Memos (EAMs).
Change document and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) development in support of fleet issue corrections, repairs, and product improvement redesigns.
Coordinate retrofit plans, schedules, and upgrade requirements with multiple Boeing Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Develop schedules and plans for on-site Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) support, including base entry access lists, material and parts delivery, and manpower provisions.
Provide responses to Field Service technical requests and problem reports
Lead and manage engineering projects, including proposal estimates, in support of aircraft customers
Ensure the technical correctness of offered solutions
Research and develop new repairs and configurations that incorporate existing CRI components
Timely root cause corrective action (RCCA) to ensure future part procurements yield first time quality
T his position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires an active U.S. SECRET Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
3+ years of avionics or Mission Systems Integration experience
1+ years of experience directly interfacing with suppliers
1+ years of experience developing supplier statements of work and supplier performance oversight
3+ years of direct coordination with end user customers USAF and/or USN including program management, engineering, logistics, and technical publications functions
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
10+ years or related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience with technical oversight of suppliers
3+ years of experience with legacy or new production F-15 aircraft
3+ years of experience providing engineering support to retrofit/mod lines
10+ years of experience collaborating across Boeing IPTs (engineering, program management, modification team, and finance) and business units (BDS, BGS, BAO, etc.)
10+ years of avionics or mission systems integration experience
Typical Education & Experience:
Level 4:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 5:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range (Level 4): $119,850 – $162,150
Summary pay range (Level 5): $143,650 – $194,350
