Westfield Specialty, Inc. Underwriting Quality Assurance and Compliance Analyst in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey

This is an entry-level position where an individual will be exposed to the processes of insurance Underwriting Quality Assurance and Audit. The individual will be provided training on the specifics related to reviewing underwriting files for specific items and characteristics as well, as the specifics related to insurance state compliance requirements.

A successful candidate will be expected to support the Westfield Specialty Underwriting Quality Assurance/Audit team by:

  • Engaging in fieldwork and underwriting file review as directed by their manager.
  • Analyzing source documents to provide qualitative and quantitative review assessments.
  • Documenting findings through work papers and spreadsheets evidencing the file reviews.
  • Summarizing findings into documents that can be used for analysis of findings and reporting.
  • Assisting in generating underwriting quality reviews and audit reports.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Corporate Underwriting department

In addition to supporting Underwriting Quality Assurance efforts, this position will support the Westfield Specialty state regulatory Compliance team by:

  • Assisting the Westfield Specialty Compliance team with a variety of activities related to organization and reviewing the accuracy of corporate data to ensure the compliance of underwriting systems and data warehouses related to filed state forms and rating information.
  • Assist on an as-needed basis the Compliance team concerning the Division's project load and product development efforts, including assisting in maintaining spreadsheets and other key data items related to insurance form and rate compliance efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in working for a Specialty Insurance Company is preferred, specifically for those who have had experience in a Specialty Underwriting or Claims department (including experiences working for an insurance broker that places specialty business).
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently to complete work on a timely basis, while at the same time being a productive member of an overall team.
