Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District Programs and Services Administrative Assistant in Bergland, Michigan

The GOISD seeks an administrative assistant to support special education-related services and center-based programs. This position reports to the Special Education Supervisor and the Center-Based Program Principal and is exclusively focused on GOISD operations. Key responsibilities include managing scheduling, maintaining compliance documentation, organizing student records, and coordinating with staff to ensure the efficient operation of programs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

*Work Environment: *

The primary location will be at the GOISD Gogebic County Center-Based Program Special Education Office, with occasional travel to the Birth-5 Gogebic County Special Education Office and the Ontonagon County Center-Based Program.

Education and Qualifications:

  • An associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school is required.
  • Previous experience in an administrative or clerical role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents/guardians, and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace, and familiarity with office equipment (fax machine, copier, etc.).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform various tasks and assume different responsibilities as needed.
  • Experience working with sensitive materials and maintaining confidentiality.

*Compensation: *Based on degree and experience per GOISD Support Staff Wage Scale (minimum of $22.75 per hour).
