Walmart (USA) Senior, Software Engineer in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements; translating requirements into technical solutions; gathering requested information (for example, design documents, product requirements, wire frames); writing and developing code; conducting unit testing; communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders; collaborating with project team and cross functional teams; troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes; ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs; interacting with project manager to provide inputs on project plan; and providing updates to the project team.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

  • At least 5 years of experience as Software Engineer with Strong development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Azure Cosmos DB, Kafka, and GitHub and NoSQL, Python.

  • Experience with cloud application development including scalable, data driven, and message-oriented architecture.

  • Experience designing scalable microservices.

  • Experience designing loosely coupled services using real time message processing including Kafka.

  • Experience working on cloud scale massive relational and No-SQL databases.

  • Experience with code repositories and version control practices.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices. Automated deployment experience.

  • Experience in software quality and operational excellence practices.

  • Experience in agile development methodology.

  • Experience deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

What you'll bring:

  • A disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment.

  • A constant desire to improve, learn more and take things to the next level and a passion for adopting the latest features in Kubernetes, Java, and Spring Boot.

  • Knowledge of technologies used in building scalable, distributed systems in virtualized cloud environments.

  • Ability to design for fault tolerance and high availability.

  • Experience coding in object-oriented programming with Java. Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java and Spring Boot.

  • Experience designing and implementing Kafka and implementing Azure Cosmos DB events processing (CDC).

  • Experience writing Unit Tests, Functional Tests, and Integration Tests.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
