Walmart Senior Manager, Product Development and Sourcing in Bentonville, Arkansas

As a Senior Manager , Product Development and Sourcing you will work closely with a team to build our Member's Mark brand to life. Your primary focus will be on owning product categories in prepared foods, meticulously managing all aspects from conception to execution. This role demands a sophisticated blend of strategic thinking, culinary expertise, and business acumen to design and deliver quality products that surpass our members' expectations.

This role involves creating thoughtful assortments, managing diverse product and lifecycles, developing strategic supplier relationships, sourcing appropriately, understanding the financial levers of the business, and introducing new processes and techniques to simplify ways of working. This role will require a strong strategic point of view to drive cohesion within the brand.

You will know your supplier and member needs better than anyone else and will constantly think about what is next for your business. Success in this role requires tenacity, a member mindset, focus on quality, influence, and a competitive spirit. You'll use your executive presence to work with suppliers and cross functional team members at all levels and navigate interesting, complex challenges.

Our Private Brand / Member's Mark at Sam's Club is a critical factor of why our members both join and renew their memberships. You will be responsible for advising on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems.

This role will be based out of our home office location in Bentonville, Arkansas. Please note that this role will not support immigration-related employment benefits such as H-1B, TN, L-1, or STEM Extension

You'll sweep us off our feet if...

  • Spearhead the creation of thoughtful assortments and manage diverse product lifecycles within the prepared foods category.

  • Cultivate strategic supplier relationships and oversee the sourcing process to ensure optimal product quality and cost efficiency.

  • Utilize financial analysis to make informed decisions and introduce innovative processes to streamline operations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, taste, and nutritional value while adhering to regulatory requirements.

  • Define project timelines, milestones, and resource requirements for product development and sourcing initiatives.

  • Track progress, identify potential roadblocks, and take proactive measures to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

  • Effectively communicate project updates, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

You'll make an impact by...

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of food science, ingredient functionality, culinary trends, and food manufacturing processes.

  • Culinary background and a deep understanding of culinary trends and techniques.

  • Technical background in food science coupled with experience in sourcing and developing strategic partnerships.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, lead teams, and manage stakeholders effectively.

  • Familiarity with food regulations, quality standards, and industry certifications (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF, BRC).

  • Solution-oriented mindset, with a knack for creating efficiencies and driving continuous improvement.

  • Customer-centric approach and a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.

  • Strong analytical skills and a test-and-learn mentality to drive product improvements.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
