About the Roles:
Accenture is seeking a Senior Engineer to support the project management and contract delivery for the Mission Critical Infrastructure team. As an experienced MEP Design Engineer, you will be proficient in designing MEP solutions and manage project deliverables from end-to-end in a client facing environment while supporting account management and opportunity development.
General Responsibilities:
Perform on-site and virtual assessments of data center facilities including interviews of facilities’ engineering, operations & maintenance staff to document detailed understanding of architecture/structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, network connectivity, and security systems supporting the facility
Real-time review of As-Built MEP Construction Documents for system capacities, conveyances, and concurrent maintainability
Display detailed understanding of Uptime Institute Tier requirements to identify relative status of an existing facility and describe design for improvement
Provide recommendations with respect to systems selection, sizing, location, and operations
Conduct RFP, bid meetings, and scoping meetings, constructability reviews, and referral evaluations, and value engineering of project drawings and schedules to optimize client’s benefit
Support Construction Teams, including providing direct instructions to General Contractors to, coordinating procurement activities on behalf of clients, including lead-time management, project delivery and equipment logistics
Monitor project work to maintain schedule, budget and compliance to contract
Implement change management program (preparation, negotiation and ongoing management of impact of proposed changes on cost, schedule and deliverables)
Develop schedules of values, review purchasing, review pay applications, manage contingency reserves, and manage cost-to-complete against budget
Provide on-site construction Project Management to monitor construction to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and approved submittals while acting as liaison between team members, contractors and operators ensuring coordination of all trades to complete project on schedule.
Generate/review field reports, track and follow up on requests for information, prepare punch lists and monitor completion
Coordinate and communicate with project managers and other team members with respect to project status and performance
Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 25% to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.
Here's what you need:
Minimum 5+ years of experience with MEP systems evaluation, design, and construction oversight (construction administration) experience with large-scale corporate office and data center projects
Minimum 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, construction estimating, and managing large, complex data center construction projects
Ability to review and develop complete construction packages (basis of design, SD/DD/CD drawings and specifications)
Detailed understanding of monitoring and control systems for data center MEP systems (BMS, BAS, EPMS, SCADA, BCMS) and general understanding of communication links, interface, and cross-functional capabilities with DCIM, ITSM, and CMDB systems
Competence with leading Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages (AutoCAD, Revit) with ability to create comprehensive design packages
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate’s Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)
Preferred Experience:
Exceptional client-facing skills, with requisite verbal and written communication skills necessary to clearly articulate technical details, cost / schedule / risk tradeoffs, field coordination challenges, and general construction progress
Ability to effectively manage numerous simultaneous projects, balancing the ebbs and flows of the typical evaluation, design, construction, and BAU process
Basic project management experience
Excellent time management and conflict/contention management skills
Experience managing multiple simultaneous construction projects and establishing remote management systems to ensure compliance with project requirements
Consulting background (4 years minimum) with an engineering or technology professional services entity
Commercial experience, including new construction and retrofits of existing facilities
Ability to interface and manage clients with emphasis on excellent customer relationship skills
Excellent communication skills that include both verbal and written presentations
Must be able to present to senior facilities and technology managers.
Ability to travel throughout the US and Internationally on periodic basis
Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
Experience managing a delivery team
RFP / Site Selection Experience
Root-cause Analysis (RCA)
Engineering Design Management
Lead project teams (5-6+)
Preferred Certifications:
Professional Engineer (PE)
Accredited Tier Designed (ATD)
LEED AP Certified
