Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the financial industry, specifically for a senior accountant role based in Bensenville, Illinois. The workplace is dynamic, and the employment type is permanent. The role involves numerous responsibilities including overseeing the monthly accounting close, managing the US and global payroll process, and analyzing financial statements.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the monthly accounting close, including preparation of journal entries, analysis and explanation of fluctuations and variances, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management.
• Manage the US and global payroll process, including handling quarterly and year-end activities.
• Apply critical-thinking and use Microsoft Excel skills to analyze financial statements and underlying data; develop and present insights into financial results to management.
• Perform monthly variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts and research discrepancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams to maintain flow of communication and support.
• Work with technical teams to resolve issues related to unprocessed system transactions.
• Support external audit process and escalate any inefficiency to management.
• Review and approve Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions.
• Analyze current procedures, recommend, develop, and drive process improvements to achieve efficiency and scalability.
• Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control process, and design additional controls to address deficiencies.
• Support policies, procedures, and internal controls which are in place to protect company assets and ensure financial statement accuracy.
• Assist in financial reporting at period ends.
• Build trust with senior management through effective communication. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accountant role or similar position
• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Demonstrated ability to work with general ledgers and journal entries
• Strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel
• Experience in conducting month end close processes
• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
