Midwest Goods Inc. Overnight Inventory Control Associate in Bensenville, Illinois

Location : Bensenville, IL

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM

Status: Full Time (Non-Exempt)

Compensation: $18 per hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Inventory Control Associate position manages inventory through databases and maintains levels required daily to meet distribution demands. The Inventory Control Associate works to ensure that ordered materials are always available for order fulfillment. This person will be performing physical counts of materials, investigating, adjusting and reporting discrepancies based on findings in computation and count.

Essential Functions

  • Monitors inventory levels and purchasing supplies as required to avoid shortages and overages.

  • Determines appropriate inventory levels for each product that require additional supply stocking.

  • Audit pick face locations in efforts to discover and correct product errors and location discrepancies to be corrected.

  • Identifies inconsistencies in product level descriptions or information and reports said information to the responsible team members.

  • Maintains appropriate records and files; enters data for quantities of products ordered and received; inventory and cycle count adjustments into computer database.

  • Ensures all products ordered and received are correct and on time to meet operational needs.

  • Troubleshoots inventory discrepancies by following the process in the system.

  • Prepares and participates in yearly physical inventory to tally the on-hand vs the system count.

  • Maintains accurate case quantity information in systems for all items to ensure that the proper data is present in systems

  • Works on product Move Location report on a weekly basis to establish fast paced picking of A category items.

  • Reviews and eliminates the use of pick locations regarding out-of-stock materials

  • Adheres to procedures for maintaining pick face locations and ensures that those with multiples found are corrected.

  • Creates and maintains various reports and distributes them to Management as needed.

  • Reviews and acquires products for Return to Vendor orders as requested.

  • Performs additional cycle counts based on the request of the Customer Service, Purchasing or Receiving Departments.

  • Reviews materials and their expiration dates to ensure that product available is compliant with Company guidelines.

  • Conducts reports regarding rate of sale and bundles items in pick face locations accordingly.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a warehouse environment where noise level can be loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fast-moving carts and employees throughout the warehouse. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance; and stoop or kneel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Sunday through Thursday 6 PM to 3 AM.

    Travel

    No travel is expected for this position.

    Required Education and Experience

    A minimum of HS Diploma or GED and one year of inventory control experience in a factory or warehouse environment. Ability to read and write in English and follow verbal instructions and use simple math. Intermediate computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite experience (Spreadsheets, database, word-processing, etc.) are required. Working knowledge of Ecommerce and inventory management systems.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Associate degree.
