Do you have experience working around horses? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to put that experience to use in the world of horse racing! The Department of Agriculture is currently looking for Livestock Workers to assist Veterinarians at Parx Racetrack. Your responsibilities would include handling horses, collecting and packaging samples, and recording data to ensure compliance with the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission's regulations and policies. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Livestock Worker 1, you will be accountable for upholding accurate data management, including adherence to chain of custody protocols. This position is responsible for verifying the identity of racehorses through tattoo identification, collecting urine samples, handling and verifying sample kits, maintaining cleanliness in work and barn areas, and providing assistance in any other essential farm operations. You will excel in this opportunity with prior experience working with livestock and a passion for animal care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Part-time employment Work hours are 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Wednesday, with 30-minute lunch. The work schedule is vendor controlled and is determined by the racing schedule. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Experience in general farm work; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
