\ Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a university or college. Preferred courses of study include Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Law, Communications, or other related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Detail and solution-oriented

Requirements

The Human Resources Intern provides valuable support in carrying out the day-to-day HR activities of UCS. They maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of employee information, create and manage job ads and associated social media advertising, ensure compliance with employment laws, plan employee engagement events, and complete special projects. In the HR Intern role, you will work with various members of the HR team as you learn more about the different roles that make up the UCS HR team. You will learn about recruiting, benefits administration, legal compliance, employee engagement, and much more.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and manage job postings and associated social media advertisements.
  • Create videos, pictures, and other content that will tell job applicants the story of why UCS is a great place to work.
  • Assess and recommend updates to our careers website.
  • Complete reference checks for new hires.
  • Assist with new employee orientation.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Digitize and upload confidential personnel paperwork into the Human Resources Information System.
  • Work on auditing and/or archiving projects.
  • Write short articles on HR topics to inform employees of new or on-going HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate on planning and hosting employee engagement events.
  • Work on special projects.
