Google Technical Program Manager, Google Play in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience managing projects in a technical/software engineering environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with program management fundamentals (e.g., planning, execution, estimation, risk management, stakeholder management).

  • Ability to produce frameworks and documents that communicate status, scope, timelines, task planning, action items, risks, issues, project dependencies, test planning, or roll-out planning.

  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Play Games Services offers cross-game identity, automatic sign-in, profile, save data, achievements, leaderboards and more. The team works with top game developers to build the platform services they need and build the Gamer Profile that users interact with across Google Play.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

  • Partner with Engineering, Product Management Directors, and more to accelerate organization execution.

  • Manage portfolio planning and prioritization, partner with Engineering and Product, drive Roadmap/OKR planning, milestones, and software schedules.

  • Propose, present, and iterate on proposals with Cross-site, Cross-product area, and executive audiences.

  • Design processes and introduce governance to reduce issues and improve communication.

  • Partner with and build relationships across functional, organizational and product area boundaries.
