As a part of the Compute Infrastructure org, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, designing, developing, and supporting Internet-scale features that define LinkedIn’s next-gen compute infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be excited for the challenge to design and build rich, dynamic client-side interfaces using JavaScript, leveraging new technologies like HTML5 and CSS3, to launch fast/scalable products for our next gen compute platform.

You will work closely with engineers, technical leads, product owners to craft outstanding user experiences. Your specific expertise will be required to make the Nimbus compute platform delightful, secure, performant and accessible to all our users. You will implement cutting-edge technologies and will be writing state-of-the-art code to keep LinkedIn at the cutting edge of current technology.

Responsibilities:

• Own the front-end development for one or more of our products and collaborate with engineers, and product owners to launch new UI functionalities, iterate on existing features, and build a world-class user experience.

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including discovery, analysis, requirements definition, solution design, configuration, code development, testing, deployment, and support.

• You will be the technical lead for UI Design and development for Compute Infra org in Bangalore, and spearhead technical design reviews/approvals on behalf of the team.

• Work with stakeholders across teams to understand compute management experiences, translate them to UX requirements and build technical solutions to address gaps

• Your specific expertise will be required to make the Fleet Management and related experiences delightful, secure, performant and accessible to all our users.

• Mentor and Upskill junior talent in the team to become proficient in UI/UX and Full Stack Development as needed

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with semantic HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript to build modern and scalable web experiences

• Experience in software design, development, and troubleshooting problems in production

• Experienced in Unit / Integration / Visual Testing with modern Front end frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

• An encyclopedic knowledge of browser quirks and their remedies.

• Experience writing clean, unobtrusive Javascript and debugging tools (Chrome Dev Tools, etc.)

• Knowledge of (and a passion for) current trends and best practices and design patterns in frontend architecture, including performance, accessibility and usability.

• 2+ years of technical leadership experience with a front end or Full Stack Development team

• Familiarity and comfort with command-line applications, source control, testing frameworks and other aspects of developing in large, distributed software teams.

• Ability and eagerness to program progressive, single-page applications (Ember / React / Angular / Backbone)

• Experience with designing Front End elements and mock-ups using tools like Figma

• Experience defining and measuring KPIs and success metrics for front end applications like LCP, INP, CLS, TBT, TTFB etc.
