Google Staff Software Engineer, Search Discover Quality in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.

  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.

  • 3 years of experience leading project teams, setting technical direction, delivering results, and making progress in a changing problem space.

  • Excellent organizational design skills, with the ability to mentor and coach managers and other senior leaders in the team.

  • Manage alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.

  • Manage a growing engineering team, define technical roadmap, review designs and system architecture, and navigate around new serving stack for scaling SRP Previews.

  • Define and evolve the team with a balanced portfolio of foundational investments and run the business priorities.

  • Mentor and coach the team and ensure inclusion and psychological safety is built into the team's culture.

  • Plan and deliver on multi-quarter roadmaps with incremental milestones.
