Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

• Expertise in designing DevOps platform, tools, processes, and practices for On-Cloud and On-Prem product environments.

• Architecting, designing, and developing a scalable, reliable and sustainable DevOps architecture, as a common framework across multiple products to enable concurrent releases.

• Defines and owns DevOps architecture runway, roadmap of features and leads a team to plan and design and implement features, conduct Technical Design Reviews.

• Understands product level technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals.

• Actively research and contribute to evaluating new technology & tools, define, refine & implementing the DevOps architecture elements with latest industry leading frameworks.

• Assist the product owner/manager and leads a team of talented engineers to design and develop a robust DevOps roadmap with implementation based on a current vs. future state of evolving product architecture with a cohesive viewpoint.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, actively participates and assists team on required planning, estimations, execution, and retrospective inputs.

• Defines, implements and measures KPIs and metrices to ensure team is delivering and sustaining high quality products and improving processes and technologies.

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience.

Desired Characteristics and Technical Expertise:

• Total 10+ Years experience in Software Technology, Product, Application implementation and Delivery

• A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in DevOps.

• Ability to keep the big picture in mind while designing solutions.

• Minimum 5 years of deep and expert level understanding of implementing DevOps Continuos Integrtaion & Continuos Deployment CI /CD / Build & release architecture, design and processes for software products deployed on-Prem and/ or on-Cloud / edge and appliance.

• Deeply understands and applies Software Development Life Cycle and effectively uses software Design Patterns and practices in realizing scalable, reliable, and sustainable solutions.

• Strong Linux/Windows OS based systems skills with practical experience operating in a cloud or virtualized environment and tools like vCenter/ VMWare

• Continuous Integration and Deployment experience using a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services – ex. AWS, Azure

• Working experience in building sophisticated, scalable, reliable, highly available and highly automated infrastructures with automation tools (ex. Ansible, Puppet etc.)

• Experience in implementing, configuring, and deploying modern DevOps tools and CI CD orchestrators (ex. Jenkins)

• Expertise in DevOps processes (ex. GitOps, GitFlow, Branching, Versioning, Tagging, Release)

• Strong Technical skills with Java & scripting (ex. Python/ Groovy/ Bash/ Perl/ Powershell etc.).

• Experience with automated Infrastructure provisioning (using for ex. Terraform, Rancher …)

• Experience with source control management (ex. Gitlab)

• Experience with build Artifact management (ex. Jfrog Artifactory etc.)

• Expertise in containerization technologies and tech stack (ex. Docker, Kubernetes etc.)

• Understanding DevSecOps and SecOps tools (ex. Twistlock, Blackduck etc.), Security and Access Control RBAC principles and Certificate management methodologies

• Observability & Support - Environments both On-Premise and Cloud monitored for utilization, issues and supported for high availability

Business Acumen:

• Strong problem solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments

• Experience in building scalable and highly available distributed systems

• Expert in breaking down problems and estimate time for development tasks

• Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective

Leadership:

• Demonstrates clarity of thinking to work through limited information and vague problem definitions

• Influences through others; builds direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas

• Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team

• Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill
