Job Description
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10 years of software engineering or related experience.

Our Team
OCI’s largest customers have the need to have visibility into their cloud inventory. This includes ease of access, and accurate information of resources and their relationships that enable customers to track changes and maintain control over their assets. Today, customers generate their inventory using scripts that call service APIs and then stitch the relationships together to gain insights. The charter for this team is to manage a data warehouse to collate, manage, and make sense of engineering data from customer environment and provide appropriate business insights across various cloud resources.
Some of the main objectives of the OCIRA platform are:
Leverage cutting edge technologies to ingest, clean, and transform data in real-time
Provide advanced orchestration using a data lake-based approach
Manage both batch and real-time Change Data Capture (CDC) scenarios
Efficiently load and transform data into a data warehouse (DWH)
Integrate with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse and consumption layers like Graph Studio, OAC
Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Development with a proven record of managing medium to large size product development teams. In this role, SDM will participate in building global scale data ingestion, analytics and prediction frameworks for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and its customers. The SDM will build flexible and scalable solutions for sourcing and ingesting Petabytes worth of structured and non-structured data. The candidate will design, build and maintain data warehouse, organize data into subject areas, understand data consumption and data visualization components using core Oracle technologies. The SDM will work closely with business teams to develop these platforms that will drive the next generation of data science and predictive insights/intelligence.

Your Responsibilities
As an integral part of the OCI development team you will be responsible for the following –
Help drive OCIRA service deliver business insights using Oracle standard tools, technology and development practices
Managing a team of 10 to 20 development engineers including principal and senior engineers
Working directly with architects to ensure newer capabilities are built applying right design principles
Work in an extremely fast-paced and challenging, global environment
Working with remote and geographically distributed teams to enable building the right products, using the right building blocks and making them consumable by other products easily
Be very hands-on and own/drive key end to end product/services
Ensure customer success including delivering top notch features
Building high performance organization including hiring top talent to Oracle, retaining top talent and growing careers at oracle
Your Qualifications
8+ years of data management and engineering
5+ years of people management and leadership role
5+ years of Object Oriented software development experience, Java & application development
Deep understanding of how distributed, resilient software is built and deployed
Prior experience in building, or contributing to, distributed data-intensive systems
Experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems
Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies in a dynamic environment.
Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience with Agile process
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
