Job Description
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is a strategic growth area for Oracle. It is a comprehensive cloud service offering in the enterprise software industry, spanning Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). OCI is currently building a future ready Generative AI Service and Generative AI Agents service. OCI Generative AI service is a fully managed service that seamlessly integrates large language models (LLMs) from Cohere and Meta Llama 2 to address a wide range of business use cases. OCI Generative AI service includes multilingual capabilities that support over 100 languages, an improved GPU cluster management experience, and flexible fine-tuning options. Customers can use OCI Generative AI service in the Oracle Cloud and on-premises via OCI Dedicated Region. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI Agents combines the power of large language models (LLMs) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with customer's enterprise data, letting users query diverse enterprise knowledge bases. Coming soon, users will be able to access up-to-date information through a natural language interface so they can directly act on it.
Your Opportunity: As we embark upon the journey to offer a superior, multidisciplinary and performant Generative AI offerings on cloud, we invite you to participate in this exciting journey by being an engineering manager on the team at our India Development Center. You have the opportunity to lead and manage a multi-functional team to design, build, deploy and operate Gen AI services in cloud. You have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest talent and multi-functional org including TPMs, Product Managers and Customers.
Qualifications:
Prior experience working on cloud-scale distributed systems
Proven experience with about 5+ years in managing & leading full stack development teams including managers and senior engineers
Proficiency in Java and/or Python
Experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
Familiarity with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, object storage, identity, security, software-defined networking, etc
Strong knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes to build and deploy using Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.
Experience with production operations, on-call support, and good practices for putting quality code in production and solve issues when they arise
Hands-on experience or leadership experience with Data science, Machine Learning, ML Engineering, Statistical systems or Gen AI applications are a big plus.
Comfort with communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations) to different collaborators
Experience dealing with and leading collaborators like product managers, program managers, senior management and customers

Responsibilities
Build cloud service on top of the modern Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) building blocks at OCI
Help drive design and build distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems
Participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI/CD and production operations
Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events
Leverage a plethora of internal tools at OCI to develop, build, deploy and solve software issues
Participate in on-call for the service with the team and drive operational success of the cloud service we build.
Work closely with senior management and architects in planning and roadmap activities
Build an impactful team by hiring and nurturing top talent.
Provide regular feedback to team, conduct formal reviews and talent ratings
