The Opportunity

As a ServiceNow Senior Software Engineer, you will lead, architect, design, develop, configure, and customize (when necessary) ServiceNow applications and services. You will deliver new functionality across applications, support the entire development lifecycle and assist the platform support with product related incident resolution. You will act as a ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert driving and leading ServiceNow based modules of complex software product which will integrate and streamline Takeda procurement process, with a specific focus on ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the development of solutions specifically focused on the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module.

  • Partner with product team to create solution designs based on product requirements to maximize user experience 

  • Make complex front-end, back-end and API based technical and design decisions in conjunction with key Takeda stakeholders 

  • Estimate work based on user stories and functional requirements or wireframes

  • Conduct show back sessions and product demos to small audiences

  • Follow release and sprint development deadlines and schedules

  • Collaborate with agile team to craft clear user stories and continuously deliver product increments

  • Responsible for mentoring and reviewing pull requests of more junior or outsourced partner’s team members.

  • Configures, Maintains and Develops product features and continuously delivers product enhancements. 

  • Extends ServiceNow data model to support product features 

  • Develops business logic using scripting (Script Includes, Business Rules), and Flow Designer 

  • Designs and develops automated tests of solutions using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework and unit tests for Script Includes 

  • Documents the work performed using Agile Development and SDLC tools 

  • Uses Application Repository, Update Sets, Source Control and Pipeline tools to manage deployment of artifacts across ServiceNow instances 

  • Collaborate with HR teams to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions using the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module.

  • Provide training and support to HR users to ensure they can effectively use the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module.

  • Stay updated with the latest features and best practices related to the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module and incorporate them into the solutions.

  • Use agile engineering practices and various software development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance the customer and employee experience. 

  • Contribute to Takeda’s mission by leading the development and adoption of solutions that deliver business outcomes and drive innovation.

  • Leverage Takeda Agile SDLC toolset for code management, integration and deployment.

  • Follow and contribute to ServiceNow common best practices and specific Takeda-defined development standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science/Information technology; or relevant work experience.

  • 6+ years of experience in architecting, designing and developing ServiceNow solutions (especially modules relevant to HR processes).

  • 3+ years of specific experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module.

  • Experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module is a must.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and how they can be automated and improved using ServiceNow HR Service Delivery.

  • Expert in configuring and customizing the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module, including Case and Knowledge Management, Employee Service Center, and Lifecycle Events.

  • Experience in developing and maintaining integrations between ServiceNow HR Service Delivery and other HR systems.

  • Hands-on experience in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions.

  • Fluent English (both written and oral).
