Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Database Test and Tools Development team is looking for bright and talented engineers from top tier institutes to apply their ingenuity to test Oracle’s flagship product. It is an opportunity to demonstrate your skills as a Test Development Engineer for Oracle’s cloud enabled platforms by developing tests for various features in Cloud services and Autonomous Databases.

We need to develop tools/frameworks and test applications and automate the test setup needed for the features of Oracle products integrated with Autonomous Database cloud services we are testing. This is a programming position as all the tests/frameworks are applications which should exercise a feature in the yet to be released version of Oracle Cloud services and products in test and production cloud environments.

These test programs run fully automated on a server farm and cloud environments. Our test frameworks need to configure, run test applications/inject failures, and verify results by itself.

The opening is for an individual contributor position in Database test and tools development team focusing on GoldenGate OCI Marketplace, Big Data Query Service and Kubernetes projects.

In this position, you will be working very closely with the feature development teams to create a tests/tools/infrastructure needed for the feature.

You will also be reviewing the feature specifications (Functional & Design spec) before it is finalized as your inputs from a customer perspective might be important in the implementation.

Our primary development platform is Linux, and the coding would involve REST, SDKs, Python, C or Java to develop programs. The challenge and the advantage is in understanding the technology and applying it in a practical setup. You will develop and manage production canaries for cloud services. Knowledge of Cloud, Microservices, Kubernetes is an added advantage.
