Google Security Engineer II, Android Security Assurance in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience with security in attacks and mitigation methods.

  • 1 year of experience with Java, C, or C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience in vulnerability discovery and analysis, design auditing, and code-level security auditing.

There's no such thing as a "safe system" - only safer systems. Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions and technical security issues.

Android Security Assurance is a cross-functional team under Android Security tasked with ensuring that Android is a secure and defended operating system. In this role, you will work with partners inside of Android such as Android Security, Android development teams, Android Partner Engineering, Android Release, legal, partners outside of Android, and more.

  • Analyze vulnerabilities reported to exist on the Android Platform.

  • Perform security code analysis and design reviews.

  • Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.

  • Manage security and secure coding practices throughout Google and the Android ecosystem.

  • Conduct research to identify new attack vectors against Android and services for Android.
