Job Description

The position of Principal Performance/Automation Engineer is for the RGIU working within the Omnichannel Solution Unit. The Omnichannel team develop a highly integrated suite of retail products from store systems (point of service and payment solutions) to corporate systems that also include customer engagement and our order management suite. Oracle Retail Omnichannel cloud services offer industry leading solutions for the top retail brands around the globe. We operate at a high scale in highly available cloud native environment.As a member of the technical QA global team you will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our applications ensuring optimal performance to deliver a seamless customer experience under all conditions. You will also design functional, integration and regression test plans, build and execute automated tests and perform highly complex analysis across the suite of Products.These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, making key technical investments for the future as we evolve our cloud-native solutions to continue to enable modern retailers to keep up with the ever-evolving retail trends and demands.

Core responsibilities include:- Create performance strategies and test plans in alignment with new software development and Business Goals ensuring accurate simulation of real-world scenarios and user behaviours - provide benchmarking and profiling of specific functional areas and report on those reviews.- Develop and implement comprehensive Performance approaches for Retail software applications, including load, stress, soak, scalability, resilience, failover and recovery testing.- Communicate Performance analysis progress, results, and recommendations to technical architects and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner to optimise, tune and provide resilience to our solutions.- Champion awareness of performance related issues within the Omnichannel Solution Unit acting as an advisory to the broader development group on performance enhancements.- Execute automated testing and acceptance of new features/releases as part of a feature driven Agile development process. Analyse, evaluate and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve solutions to complex problems.- Provide thought leadership and best practice direction in the Non-Functional Testing arena, including Performance and Functional Automation.

Additional Details:• Software Development/QA experience in a production environment, including front-end and API development and testing.• Proficiency in web application performance testing and performance monitoring of database servers.• Experience in building test frameworks and integrating within a CI stack. Experience with performance testing frameworks and tools.• Familiarity with NFT tools such as JMeter, Neoload, Taurus, Gatling, LoadRunner, Shell Scripting, Bash, SQL etc.• Strong understanding of software architecture, databases, networking, and operating systems, including on premise and cloud hosted.• Proficiency in using performance and operational monitoring and profiling tools to analyse system behaviour and identify bottlenecks, such as Dynatrace, ELK/Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Kubernetes and Rancher.• Extensive experience working with Java tools and technologies (Core java, J2EE).• Experience with version control systems like Git, Subversion.• Experience with continuous delivery and continuous integration tools like Jenkins.• Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others.• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.--- Experience with Oracle core cloud technologies is a plus.• BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or technical field. • 7+ years of software engineering or related experience.
