Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Oracle's PeopleSoft applications are designed to address the most complex business requirements. These products are used by over 5000 large enterprises across the globe. The main PeopleSoft development centers for these products are in US, India and China. The India Development Center (IDC) is responsible for complete lifecycle of product conceptualization to design and development. These products provide comprehensive business and industry solutions, enabling organizations to increase productivity, accelerate business performance, and provide a lower cost of ownership. PeopleSoft PeopleTools provides a comprehensive development toolset that supports the development and runtime of PeopleSoft applications. It enables application developers build and customize the PeopleSoft applications quickly and easily. It supports Oriented Architecture (SOA) through the use of the delivered, robust, middleware solutions.

Brief:The PeopleSoft PeopleTools Lifecycle Management (LCM) Development Team is focused on delivering new and innovative features to our customers in order to reduce their Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).Lowering TCO for PeopleSoft Systems is a key element in the market when competing with SaaS vendors and as such the LCM Development organization plays a pivotal leadership role in delivering solutions to our internal and external customers that increase the value proposition of PeopleSoft solutions.The Products and features owned by the LCM Development organization are a key competitive differentiator for the PeopleSoft Product-line and their continued enhancement and improvement is essential to the division.The PeopleTools LCM Teams are continually adding new features and functionality in the areas of Data Migration, Data Management, Testing Tools and the PeopleSoft Update Manager

Detailed Description

Lifecycle Management products are key to a company's product vision. The more complex a product is, the more critical is the need for life cycle management. LCM has two category of products -(1) tools to create and release patches, updates and upgrades; and(2) products to apply these patches, updates and upgrades, and also manage data migration during updates and upgrades. LCM products are very important for customers and they fully depend on these to make their environments up to date and current. These tools and products must ensure customer satisfaction by providing a smooth user experience during life cycle activities.As a part of the LCM team, you are required to build tools and products that makes life cycle management easier for customers. To do this, you will analyze and integrate external and internal customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Mandatory Skills:

  • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area .- Strong programming experience in PeopleSoft Technical skills like Application Designer, Application Engine, Query Manager, PeopleCode, Process Scheduler, SQR, PSQuery, Fluid Designs , CI, SQLs, Integration Broker, File Layouts- Strong programming skills in PeopleSoft technologies (PeopleCode/PIA), Understanding of PIA Architecture- Strong in Database fundamentals and writing complex SQL to enforce business rules that are critical from application standpoint.

  • Ability to create/understand/read Software Designs and translate to techical worksets

Desirable Skills :- PL-SQL is added advantage- Ability to fine tune SQL queries to optimize performance and debug SQL queries that are complex in nature.

  • Java technologies, Java/J2EE, javascript, html5, css3- Experience in developing on both Windows and UNIX- Good communication skills- Well versed and experienced in all phases of SDLC. Exposure to Agile/SCRUM methodologies will be a plus
