The Trust organization keeps Linkedin a safe and trusted platform, utilizing and advancing cutting edge AI technology. Within this organization, as a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for leading the entire Content Abuse Engineering charter, including
The Content Abuse AI team, that builds models to prevent and detect violating and low quality content
The Content Abuse Apps Engineering, that builds end-to-end engineering solutions for content moderation.
Responsibilities
You will lead a team AI and apps engineers and managers.
The team owns multiple charters including embedding based retrieval, generative AI, AI productivity, core foundational models, etc.
You will partner with cross functional leads to define near-term and long-term roadmaps for content moderation.
You will work closely with LinkedIn India leadership to build up LinkedIn’s brand in India, with a particular focus on AI.
Basic Qualifications
15+ years experience in machine learning, in particular natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, large language models, or similar areas.
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or related engineering experience.
10+ years experience in people management.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong background in machine learning and data mining techniques.
5+ years managing teams of 30+ individuals and first-line managers.
Good understanding of large scale engineering systems and some or all of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Machine Learning, distributed key-value stores, streaming processes, workflow scheduler, recommender systems, statistical methods, and experimental design.
Experience in content moderation.
Ability to lead by example and inspire the team to perform at a very high level, and collaborate very well across different teams.
Highly motivated and has the ability to convert vague and ill-defined problems into well-defined problems, take initiative and encourage consensus building across the entire organization.
Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems for real customers.
A proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions for high QPS systems that require working with massive amounts of data.
Strong leadership abilities in order to communicate and drive cross-functional efforts
Good relationship building and people skills.
