Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Community Manager to join our team in Bangalore, India. As a Community Manager, you'll play a crucial role in shaping and executing our community engagement strategy in the region, fostering a thriving ecosystem of AWS developers and advocates.
Key job responsibilities
As a Community Manager, you'll support the execution of community engagement tactics in the Indian market. Your role will be pivotal in bridging the gap between internal AWS teams and the local developer community, serving as the primary point of contact for AWS technical community leaders and members. Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and nurturing communities for organic and sustainable growth, aligning with AWS Developer Experience key priorities
Managing and scaling global community-building programs locally, including AWS User Groups, Community Days, and engagement at AWS-led events
Identifying and nurturing high-achieving community members for programs like AWS Heroes and Community Builders
Supporting the growth of Student Cloud Clubs
Continuously evolving strategies to meet shifting community and business needs
A day in the life
Your day as a Community Manager is diverse and dynamic. Your day might start with a meeting with AWS User Group leaders, discussing upcoming events and providing support. You might then spend time reviewing applications for the AWS Community Builders program, identifying promising candidates from the region. You could then collaborate with the local marketing team on plans for the Developer Community Lounge at an upcoming AWS Summit. Your day might conclude by participating in a local AWS User Group meetup, connecting with community members and gathering valuable feedback.

The Developer Experience team's mission is to explore the future of development so that we can help developers navigate a path to that future. Our goal is to inspire developers around the world. We show them how to practically use new technologies to build efficiently in the cloud. We show them new things they are now able to achieve, both in tackling more complex cloud problems and building new solutions that leverage generative AI. We earn trust with developers by being authentic, and by being practitioners

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of experience in community management, developer relations, or similar roles
Demonstrated experience in building and managing online and offline developer communities
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AWS services and cloud computing concepts
Event management experience, particularly in organizing tech meetups or conferences
Strong presence on social media platforms popular among developers
Data analysis skills to measure and report on community engagement metrics
Willingness to travel as required
