The “Purchasing Buyer” is responsible for managing procurement of direct and indirect materials and services to fulfill the manufacturing operations requirements. The position is required to be a team player in highly demanding Supply Chain Org in a medical device and/or molecular in-vitro diagnostic company, responsible for leading and managing all aspects of Purchasing – Raw Materials planning, purchase order processing, following up with suppliers, receiving of materials as per PO and ensuring on-time payment to suppliers.

This position is part of the Global Supply Chain Management and will be 100% on-site role reporting into Supply Chain Organization/Purchasing Organization.

In this role, you will have following key responsibilities:

  • Work with Procurement various activities like placing PR-PO, following up for materials, supplier interaction and coordination.

  • Drive Year on year cost savings opportunities.

  • Responsible for supplier onboarding and registration, supplier interaction, coordination, negotiations.

  • Determines appropriate amount of inventory to support production and manage risk.

  • Need to have close monitoring on production material availability and ensure smooth production supply chain prospective.

  • Monitors supplier performance holds supplier accountable for performance levels.

  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills by working independently and engaging appropriate cross functional teams to address vendor/part issues.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor of Engineering with minimum 5 years’ experience working in Purchasing Function in a medical manufacturing Plant.

  • Procure to Pay process knowledge (PR, PO, Payment Terms)

  • Global and local stake holder management

  • Hands on knowledge on SAP, iBuy, Ariba systems

  • Experience working in Global MNC culture.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Related experience in a diagnostic, medical device, or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with Agile, lifecycle management, and advanced database/Excel skills.
